[Sighci-l] HCI - live or let die?

Joette,

I, for one, see a place for SIG HCI in ASIST, even though I don't have the
energy to participate actively.

I'm very active in SIG USE and, while the interests of the two SIGs do
overlap somewhat, I believe each can also make unique contributions to
ASIST and its members. For example, SIG HCI can help us understand
people's interactions with the technology/tools we use and how that
understanding can be applied to design. (SIG USE, I believe, is more
focused on people's interactions with information content, whether or not
technology is used to mediate that interaction.)

I do hope that someone in SIG HCI will step forward to play a leadership
role.
