Hi everybody,

Sorry if this message has been posted before.

My name is Carlos Vílchez-Román, a Peruvian librarian,
faculty member of the Library and Information Science
School of the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos.

I have finished a study about library and information
science research in Peruvian universities, but I have
some doubts with the theory framework, especially this:

The bibliometric laws (Bradford, Zipf and Lotka) and the
five laws of Ranghanathan could be considered part of the
Lakatos' hard core?

As you know, Imre Lakatos coined the term "scientific
research programs", as a conceptual alternative to the
Kuhn's paradigm.

Since this topic is highly controversial I want to know
different perspectives.

Any information would be appreciated.

Best regards,

Carlos Vílchez-Román
Peruvian Librarian
