Current Best Practices in Digital Archiving Moving Image and Sound Assets

Webinar Date:  Friday, April 12, 2013, 3:00pm-4:00pm (EDT)

Free for ASIST members, $10 for non-members

This webinar will focus on current best practices in digital archiving
moving image and sound assets. The first half will focus on sound assets,
particularly analog sound recordings and born-digital sound recordings. The
second half will focus on moving image assets, including video and film.
Participants will leave with a better understanding of the best practices
of digital archiving these assets for long-term preservation.

This webinar is provided by SIG Digital Libraries (SIG DL).

Presenter:

Anthony Cocciolo is an Assistant Professor at the School of Information and
Library Science at Pratt Institute in New York City. His research and
teaching are in the areas of digital archives, moving image and sound
archiving, digital libraries, social media and educational technology. He
completed his doctorate from the Communication, Computing, Technology in
Education program at Columbia University, and BS in Computer Science from
the University of California, Riverside. You can find out more about him at
