*This a reminder that SIG DL has the following opportunitities to help on a
temporary or permanent basis:*

*1.*

SIG-DL is seeking applicants for the Chair Elect position, which has
recently become vacant. This is a pro tem (temporary) elected position,
which will be filled to complete the current 2012-2013 term.

If you are interested in getting more involved with this SIG this is an
ideal opportunity. The successful applicant to the Chair Elect pro tem
position will be appointed to carry out the current term, which concludes
in November 2013. A full description of Chair-Elect duties can be found
online:
http://www.asis.org/wiki/chapters-sigs/index.php/SIG-DL_Officer_Positions

At the conclusion of the appointment in Nov 2013, the applicant will be
welcome to run for any of the Executive Officer positions. In other words,
the Chair Elect pro tem would finish the remainder of the current term but
would not automatically become Chair for the next year.

If you are interested in helping out the SIG and want to participate in
SIG-DL Executive Committee discussions please email SIG DL Chair, Marisa
Ramirez at mramir14 at calpoly.edu with a brief statement of interest by April
15th.

* 2.*

SIG DL has a short-term project opportunity to assess the needs and
feasibility of a SIGDL newsletter. While this project is limited in scope,
it has the possibility of growing into a longer-term opportunity, if that
is of interest. The ideal person would be an enthusiastic and enterprising
technophile willing to work with the SIG to gauge interest in a digital
newsletter and to identify successful newsletter models.

The successful individual would receive mentoring from members of the SIGDL
exec team, and would have the opportunity to network with a variety of
information professionals. This is a great way to build your resume!

This is one of many ways SIGDL is working to serve our members and
facilitate increased interdisciplinary and inter-societal collaboration
focusing on digital libraries and related issues. More information about
SIGDL is available at: http://www.asis.org/SIG/sigdl/

Interested?

Contact Marisa Ramirez (mramir14 at calpoly.edu) by April 15th with up to 250
words summarizing your relevant skills, interests and ideas for this
opportunity.
