The 6th International Conference on Knowledge Management
(http://www.ickm2009.org/) will be held in Hong Kong, China on
December 3-4, 2009. The Conference provides top researchers and
practitioners from all over the world in Knowledge Management a forum
for discussion and exchange. Since the first ICKM was held in
Singapore in 2004, subsequent conferences have been held in Charlotte,
North Carolina, U.S.A. (2005); Greenwich, London, U.K. (2006); Vienna,
Austria (2007); and Columbus, Ohio, U.S.A. (2008). In 2009, ICKM will
be held in Hong Kong. The theme of ICKM 2009 is “Managing Knowledge
for Global and Collaborative Innovations.”

This year's highlights include:

- International keynotes on CERN (the birthplace of WWW) and NASA
- Sessions on collaboration on climate change and its impact on business
- Special tracks on KM in healthcare and knowledge economy
- A Knowledge Cafe sponsored by Pacific Coffee
- Conference dinner: ICKM Conference & KMDC (a local KM association)
5th Anniversary Banquet at the Hong Kong Police headquarters

ICKM 2009 will feature invited keynote presentations, panels on
topical issues, paper presentations on emerging and continuing
business and research issues, and workshops on new areas of knowledge
management. Our conference is a non-profit event and partly funded by
the Hong Kong government as well as commercial organizations including
Microsoft, BakerTilly, World Scientific, Fuji Xerox, Thomson Reuters,
and others. With more than 200 delegates already registered so far, we
are looking forward to a stimulating and interesting event.

Our keynote speakers are:
Prof. Max Boisot,  whose book Knowledge Assets: Securing Competitive
Advantage in the Information Economy [Oxford University Press, 1998]
was awarded the Ansoff Prize for the best book on strategy in 2000.
Max Boisot's main research interests focus on the strategic management
of knowledge, and on the national and corporate cultural conditions
that enable this.

Edward W. Rogers, Chief Knowledge Officer, Goddard Space Flight Center
of NASA in Greenbelt, Maryland.  In this work he applies game theory
models to human behaviour in organizations, and explores perceptions
of reciprocity in achieving cooperative knowledge behaviour in high
tech firms.

Prof. Xi Youmin, Executive President of Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool
University, Pro-vice-chancellor of the University of Liverpool,
Convener of the Evaluation Group of Management Science and Engineering
Division of the Academic Degree Commission of the State Council,
Commissioner of National MBA Education of China. Prof. Xi established
and applied “Harmonious Management Theory” in organizational
Management and Safe Project, and his main research interests focus on
Strategy, Policy, Management Behavior, Enterprise and Enterprise Group
Management, and DSS of Planning, Evaluation and Decision-making for
Large-sized Projects.

Prof. Andrew McCusker, Operations Director of MTR Corporation Limited,
which is regarded as one of the world's leading railways for safety,
reliability, customer service and cost efficiency, and it is the
winner of Hong Kong Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise (MAKE) Award
2009.
