Position:*  Systems Analyst II      *Department*: Library Systems    *Salary
Range*: $44,330 - $56,500

The Systems Analyst II provides intermediate level software application
development, testing, documentation, implementation, and maintenance for the
Georgia Tech Library's web-based digital programs. These applications are
built primarily using open source software and emerging web technologies.
This position anticipates and investigates new technologies in library
technology so that we can respond quickly to changing user needs.

This position provides primary support for the Library's institutional
repository and the digital collections of the Georgia Tech Archives. This
includes technical support for digital preservation. The Systems Analyst II
will also provide support for new initiatives such as scholarly
communications, electronic publishing, and image databases.

The Systems Analyst II will work with our partners on campus and in library
consortia to share solutions to mutual challenges.

*Education: *Bachelor's degree. Computer Science or related field preferred.


*Experience:
 *

   - Three or more years of job-related experience.
   - Development experience must include Java, PERL and SQL
   - Prefer experience XML, XSLT, Javascript, PHP and Ruby on Rails
   - Familiarity with UNIX, DSpace and LINUX
   - Ability to apply collaborative communications technologies, open
   source tools and emerging web technologies
   - Ability to interact professionally with faculty, librarians and
   technical staff as well as good customer service and communication skills


*Duties
*
Provide enhancements and support for DSpace-related resources, including
SMARTech, the Archives digital repository, and the Galileo Knowledge
Repository

Facilitate access to archival and manuscript collections in the Library's
digital repository using technologies such as the Archivists' Toolkit,
Greenstone, DSpace, or other software. Provide support for the Archives'
image database.

Other projects as needed, involving web development for various library web
sites needs
