ASIST - SIG-DL Panels and Other Activities:
Call for Proposals (Due: 2/13/2006)
*********************************************

The program committee of SIG-DL (Special Interest Group on Digital
Libraries) invites proposals for panel sessions and symposia/workshops,
to be held at the ASIST Annual Meeting "Information Realities: Shaping
the Digital Future for All" (November 3-9, 2006, Austin, Texas).

Panels and symposia present topics for discussion such as cutting-edge
research and design, analyses of hot or emerging trends, opinions on
controversial issues, reports by practitioners on current information
science and technology projects, and contrasting viewpoints from experts
in complementary professional areas.

We are interested in the following panel topics. If you have a
proposal/paper that fits the area, please contact the session
organizer(s) right away. We also encourage you to contact us if you have
other topics for panels or symposia/workshops.

Submission of Proposals (Due: 2/13/2006):

- If you are interested in one of the topics listed above, please
contact the organizer(s) of the corresponding panels/workshops and
collaborate with them on the panel proposal.

- If you have your own proposal, and if you want it to be sponsored by
SIG-DL, contact us to ask for the SIG-DL's sponsorship, BEFORE submission.

- Panel proposals must be submitted directly to the ASIS&T
(http://www.asis.org/Conferences/AM06/AM06submit.html) by 13 February,
2006.

--- before submission, feel free to contact the chairs of other SIGs
related to your topic and ask for co-sponsorship.

--- when submitting your proposal online, make sure to indicate that it
will be sponsored by SIG-DL;

--- after submission, please send a copy of your submitted proposal to
Anita Coleman (asc at u.arizona.edu), so that we can keep track of SIG-DL's
activities.
