[Sigdl-l] 9th World congress on Health Information and Libraries

This major congress will be held in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil on Sept.
20-23, 2005.

This year it is combined with the 7th Regional (Latin
American)congress on information in health sciences (CRICS - a
biannual series) and the 4th Regional coordination meeting of the
Virtual Health Library.

The program includes plenary panel discussions (by invitation),
contributed papers sessions, poster sessions and workshops. There is
also an noteworthy exhibition

Though very busy, this event is also very effective and assembles a
large number of health information professionals from all parts of the
Americas and other continents.

The theme of this year Commitment to Equity is especially relevant.
Of particular relevance for ASIS&T members are the following
sub-themes:
1. Health and medical libaries development
2. Evidence based health information
3. Information and knowledge management & Learning and knowledge based
organizations
4. Policy making
5. Scientific communication & Electronic publishin, Open access, open
archives
6. Health consumers & patients
8. Virtual libraries & virtual communities
9. Distance learning
