I am cross posting this, with permission to DL in the hopes that some of you might be interested as well.
ICKM will be held in conjunction with ASIS 2005 (Just prior to it I believe).

Would anyone like to work with me on putting together a panel proposal with a focus on collaboration for ASIS 2005 and/or ICKM in conjunction with SigKM?

I have 2 KM people interested in participating in an ASIS collaboration panel who would enjoy collaborating with DL participants to create this panel on collaboration <g>.

If you contact me off list, I will be happy to share the two messages I received from the interested parties.
Thanks and Happy Holidays!

Dear Kelly,

How are you? Below is the call for paper for ICKM2005 to be held jointly with ASIST. We appareciate your help in getting SIG-DL to support the event. This could be our first collaboration project with SIG-DL. ICKM 2004 was a great success.

The program committee of SIG-DL (Special Interest Group on Digital Libraries) invites proposals for panel sessions to be held at the next ASIST Annual Meeting "Sparking Synergies: Bringing Research and Practice Together" (October 28-November 2, 2005, Charlotte, North Carolina).

Panel topics should be of interest to a broad cross-section of the digital libraries community. The topics can include but are by no means restricted to:

Current trends of DL
International, national, regional collaborations

DLs for special groups
DLs in specialized areas
DLs of archives and museums
Institutional repositories
Multilingual DLs
Multimedia DLs

Education/teaching DLs
Evaluation/Usability
Interface design
Information retrieval
Organization of information (e.g., metadata, thesauri, ontologies)
Knowledge management
Technologies for building and managing DLs
Open source software programs for DLs
Integration and interoperability

Please contact us if you are interested in participating as a panelist or if you would like to organize a panel. Also please let us know if there are other topics that you would like to be discussed, that were not covered in the list above.

Proposals should be in the form of a short paper (approximately two pages, no smaller than 10-pt. font), providing an overview of the issues, projects, or viewpoints to be discussed by the panel. Submissions must include title, sponsor(s), and names and affiliations of all participants (moderator, speakers, reactors, etc.). A mix of industry and academic panel members is encouraged. For more information, please visit the ASIS&T 2005 Web page at: http://www.asis.org/am05call.htm.

Please send panel proposals to K-Sun Kim kskim at slis.wisc.edu, by January 21, 2005.
