Description

The predominant impact of Service Computing can be found today in a wide spectrum of software applications, ranging from Web services, e-services, Software- as-a-Service (SaaS), and IT-enabled services to service systems in the broad sense. Challenges related to Service Computing covers the whole life-cycle of services, including fundamental service operations at the design time such as services discovery, services selection and services composition as well as security, negotiation, monitoring, recovery and compensation at the runtime.

Advances in Computational Intelligence provide an attractive opportunity for the service community to exploit tolerance for imprecision, uncertainty, ambiguity, dynamics and complexity, which raise new challenges: those for which conventional methods have not yielded optimized or complete solutions.

The Workshop aims at developing and bringing together a diverse community from academia, research laboratories and industry interested in exploring the manifold challenges and issues related to the latest advances in computational intelligence techniques and report how service computing can gain competitive advantage by applying these techniques to understand, design and simulate services. In addition, the workshop seeks to inculcate skills of envisaging application development blending computational intelligence and services. To this end, a dedicated tutorial will be organized for all participants.

Camera-Ready Copy Due Date & Pre-registration Due: April 15, 2013

Paper submission

Authors are invited to submit full papers (about 8 pages) or short papers (about 4 pages) as per IEEE 8.5 x 11 manuscript guidelines(download Word templates or LaTeX templates). The submitted papers can only be in the format of PDF or WORD. Please follow the IEEE Computer Society Press Proceedings Author Guidelines to prepare your papers, respectively. At least one author of each accepted paper is required to attend the workshop and present the paper. All papers must be submitted via the confhub submission system for the CHIS workshop at
http://www.confhub.com/conf.php?id=278

First time users need to register with the system first (see these instructions for details). All the accepted papers by the workshops will be included in the Proceedings of the Ninth IEEE 2013 World Congress on Services (SERVICES 2013) which will be published by IEEE Computer Society.
