Call For Papers volume 40 2013

Knowledge Organization (KO): Devoted to Concept Theory, Classification, Indexing, and Knowledge Representation 

Knowledge Organization (ISSN 0943-7444) is the official journal of the International Society for Knowledge Organization. The journal is published bi-monthly by ERGON-Verlag, Würzburg, Germany. Tables of contents of prior issues may be examined at this address: http://www.ergon-verlag.de/
 
The contents of the journal are indexed and abstracted in Information Science Abstracts, INSPEC, Library and Information Science Abstracts (LISA), Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts (EBSCO), Library Literature and Information Science (Wilson), PASCAL, Referativnyi Zhurnal Informatika, and Sociological Abstracts.

Knowledge Organization publishes original articles, reports on conferences and similar communications, news of ISKO and its regional chapters, as well as book reviews and letters to the editor. Research articles, including review articles: 1) clarify theoretical foundations (general ordering theory, philosophical foundations of knowledge and its artifacts, theoretical bases of classification, data analysis and reduction); 2) describe practical operations associated with indexing and classification, as well as applications of classification systems and thesauri, manual and machine indexing; 3) trace the foundations and history of knowledge organization; 4) discuss questions of education and training in classification; and 5) problems of terminology in general and with respect to special fields.

Manuscripts: Submissions should be sent by email in Word (.docx, .doc, or .rtf format) with an indicative abstract to:

All articles are subject to rigorous, double-blind, peer-review. Manuscripts that are accepted during review are generally published within six months of submission. Articles should be between 4,000 and 10,000 words in length. Papers should be situated properly in the literature of the knowledge organization domain.
