Subject: SIG-CR updates...

Greetings everyone,

A few updates are here for the SIG/CR community.

- SIG/CR business meeting (1).
The SIG/CR officers (along with Kathryn and Joe Tennis) had a virtual meeting last Wednesday. I've sent the draft notes to meeting attendees and awaiting final review/approval. I plan to send the minutes to the SIG/CR list next week, after everyone present has reviewed the notes, or we'll post them on the SIG/CR website. Having the officers connect virtually is not the same as a Business meeting at the conference that is open to all, but we do have the benefits of virtual technology. The officers plan to connect again in January, and then we'll find a way to use the SIG/CR list and potentially other media for further discussion engaging all participants on SIG/CR related issues.

- RE: ASIST 2013.
One outcome of our meeting is an action items list, and everyone is taking on various tasks and exploring SIG/CR engagement/outreach. Most germane for the moment is that Rebecca Green has already prompted folks to think about ASIST 2013; I just shared notes from a small conversation at ASIST; and Grant Campbell will be synthesizing ideas for a SIG/CR workshop, although this will not begin to unfold until early 2013, given that we are so close to December already.
For now, it would be great if folks would like to consider pulling together a panel proposal, collaborating with another SIG, etc. We'll prompt folks in early 2013 to move forward with ideas, and we can use the SIG/CR list for supportive discussion.

- SIG/CR summary slide/logo.
F.y.i. I'm attaching the SIG/CR slide from the ASIST new member's brunch. We had a logo that was argyle in nature, and it has been suggested we need something more groovy. The image there is a temporary fix. Stay tuned for a call on a new logo; and, again, I'll be sharing of notes from last week's meeting as soon as I get everyone's okay.

Finally, it is a shame the weather cut our time short at this year's ASIST; but it is most important that everyone is safe.

SIG/CR officers are really looking forward to working with everyone so that we can have a productive year and a good presence at ASIST 2013.

Please feel free to contact me directly or post any questions, ideas, etc. to the SIG/CR list as well.

Best wishes, jane
