Also my new JASIST Paper on concept theory is relevant for the connection between KO and culture because concepts are the building blocks of KO and they are influenced by theories and different cultures have different theories (see the world differently):

Hjørland, B (2009). Concept theory. Journal of the American Society for Information Science and Technology, Vol. 60, No. 8. (August 2009), pp. 1519-1536.

Dagobert --

The paper by Birger Hjorland that you might find useful is
Hjørland, Birger (2007) Semantics and Knowledge Organization. Annual Review of Information Science and Technology 41:367 -405.

It is available online at http://dlist.sir.arizona.edu/2312/

Could you recommend a reading about how culture/language affects

Does anyone know of the one or two articles that introduce this
