Professor Miksa:
Wooseob Jeong's paper given last month at DC-2009 cites and discusses many notable recent papers on this topic, and may be of interest:

Subject: [Sigcr-l] question on The Power To Tag 12|03
Will this presentation be recorded in some way and/or presentation materials made available?
Also, social tagging overall is an area I need to investigate more fully, especially as it concerns possible applications to enhancing subject representation and retrieval in library catalogs (e.g., LibraryThing's widget for importing user supplied terms directly into a online catalog record. Found a book "Tagging: people powered metadata for the social web" by Gene Smith (ISBN 0-321-52917-0) and am trying to order another entitled "Understanding Folksonomy: Catalyzing Users to Enrich Information" by Thomas Vander Wal, but it doesn't seem to be published yet.
Anyone have a good bibliography that I can take a look at or perhaps a good reliable blog or website? I confess to not having kept up on this particular subject area.
thanks,
S.
