The Assistant Taxonomist will initially be responsible for the ongoing 
maintenance, evolution and implementation of existing Ernst & Young 
proprietary taxonomies. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for 
the internal management of the taxonomy and it's metadata as well as 
taxonomy deliverables, documents and communications. It is anticipated 
that over time, the responsibilities will grow to also include working 
with communities to develop taxonomies and to become involved with 
taxonomy education activities.
 
Immediate Responsibilities: 

Taxonomy Maintenance 
* Responsible for the ongoing up-keep of existing taxonomies falling under 
the purview of the KWeb Taxonomy Program. Activities related to this 
include, but are not limited to, the following: 
o Compare, map, review for structure and format requested and/or required 
modifications to a taxonomy to assess the impact of possible changes
o Communicate impact and/or concerns to the client
o Negotiate which changes will be made with client
o Create, in conjunction with client, plan to implement agreed upon 
changes, working in accordance to existing any service level agreements / 
established processes
* Maintain history of decisions and modifications to the taxonomy and 
taxonomy metadata in taxonomy management tool and ensure that supporting 
taxonomic materials for each taxonomy are stored in the appropriate 
containers
* Manage and maintain the KWeb Taxonomy Program databases and 
communications tools
o Ensure that documents are up-to-date and accurate
o Ensure that the database is functioning as expected
o Ensure that all feedback / requests are filtered to the appropriate KWeb 
Taxonomy Program team member
* Maintain KWeb Taxonomy Program documentation and ensuring that this 
documentation is up-to-date and stored in the appropriate places
* When required, assist KWeb Taxonomy Program manager in preparing for / 
holding taxonomy development and/ or taxonomy education sessions
* Act as a back-up contact in the event, the KWeb Taxonomy Program Manager 
is away or unavailable
