International Workshop on Web-based Collaboratories (WbC 2003), Algarve, Portugal, 8 November 2003

This one-day workshop aims to initiate an interdisciplinary research forum to explore design, use and evaluation of web-based collaboratories. The workshop will consist of three sessions with presentations and discussions, led by experienced researchers. Participants are invited to submit papers and posters on prior research or work in progress, relevant to the following themes:

* Analysis of distributed collaborative work and community building
* Modeling, design and evaluation of web-based collaboratories
* Design and evaluation of conceptual tools, such as ontologies and classification schemes
* Design and integration of technologies and toolkits in collaboratories

Intended participants should have experience in design, use or evaluation of web-based collaboratories or related distributed electronic environments like digital libraries. 

Please note that the submission deadline has been EXTENDED to Monday 19 May 2003 for:

Papers and posters should be submitted as an e-mail attachment in Word or RTF format to the chair of WbC 2003 (see contact information below). The submissions will be peer reviewed by an international Program Committee. The contributions to WbC03 will be published in a proceedings volume, which will be distributed to the participants prior to the workshop. 

The Program Committee hopes to bring together different disciplines in addition to computer science and information science, in particular sociology, organizational science, linguistics and communication studies.
