Dear Colleague:
Data Harmony has been in the business of machine aided indexing,
thesaurus management, and successful search and retrieval since well
before the Internet era. Today our tools of the trade are increasing
productivity, saving editorial and machine time, and creating ROI in
some very respectable workflows, including those at Cambridge Scientific
Abstracts (CSA) , the American Water Works Association (AWWA), and the
General Accounting Office (GAO).
Data Harmony is the software division of Access Innovations, Inc., whose
history of creative solutions for the information industry date back to
1978. What makes our Thesaurus Master (TM) and Machine Aided Indexer
(M.A.I.) so special, particularly in the company of the big name
automated solutions? We built them for production purposes! The Data
Harmony solution is more economical to begin with, grows in
effectiveness as you use it, and makes a quickerand continuingreturn
on investment by increasing the productivity of that most valuable
resource, your people. One dramatic reflection of that comes from CSA
division manager Carole Houk: After a few weeks with M.A.I. we were
doing twice the work with half the people. This fourfold increase in
productivity has led to implementation of a second system at CSA.
The most knowledgeable people in the information industry continue to
confirm that so-called automated solutions, for all the elegance of
their interfaces, still fall short of delivering the indexing accuracy
their users were told, and sold, to expect. Data Harmony tools are
written in Java and manage content in XML. The system is pragmatic,
versatile, and built to stand up to a rigorous production environment.
The software was purpose-built, and proved its mettle, in our own
secondary publishing services division. Our rule based approach,
bolstered by boolean operators and multiple proximity levels, has proven
itself in simplicity from the ground up, is quicker and less costly to
implement, and very effective.
The best way to judge Data Harmony is for us to show you how it works.
We look forward to scheduling a web-based demonstration of TM and
M.A.I. for you. All you need is your Internet-connected PC (or several
in multiple locations if you prefer) and a telephone. Well show you all
the features, make live changes to a thesaurus, and show you the ease of
use, the power, and the results of our M.A.I. rule builder, concept
extractor, and statistics collector. And we can hand over mouse control
so you can try it for yourself.
In a cautious economy, you need and deserve an extra measure of
confidence when spending your companys moneywhether for office
supplies or for enterprise level infrastructure. You do a lot of hard
thinking as you make your way, item by item, to the bottom line. If you
are like many in this volatile marketplace, you are in the midst of
change. One of the big-ticket items in your budget is content
management, with legacy strings attached and an unmarked path to the
Next Big Thing. And in the trenches of that multi-faceted process is the
vocabulary of your enterprise, upon which the relevant retrieval of
vital information depends.
Thats where Data Harmony comes in.
