Hi all -
We need a quick vote from the Steering Committee about whether we will authorize the lunch for the speakers at the SIG ED workshop. $400 comes to about $30/person. SIG ED has the money available in their account.

Dear KT:
Advice for a newbie chair? I am not sure how the transfer of money works here, how much money SIG ED has, and if this is an acceptable use of funding.
Thanks!
Cassidy

Dear Jan and KT,
Hope you're both doing well.
I'm the Treasurer at SIGED. Cassidy Sugimoto asked me to get in touch with you.
During the ASIS&T Annual Meeting, Nancy Roderer is putting together a SIGED sponsored workshop on Wednesday afternoon on the education of Information Professionals, including in China, with a speaker expected from China. She plans on having a group lunch before the session, which she expects would cost $400. Nancy is requesting SIG ED for funding towards the luncheon (in full or part).
These are the three questions we have:
1) How much money do we (SIG ED) have?
2) Can the money be used for something like this?
3) If yes, how can we go about it?
Hope you'll be able to help answer these.
Warm regards,
Naresh
