[Sigcabinet] Reminder: ASIST SIG Cab conference call today

Here's what I have on the docket:
Minor discussions (20 mins tops):
1: Election of new SIG Cabinet Steering Cte. members.  Shelly and I are 
up for reelection this year (and are running); Rafal's term is ending.   
We need to solicit nominations for these positions.
2: SIG Awards. We are the jury for the SIG Member and SIG Publication 
awards, and we need to vote in the next week on those.

Major discussions (each 20 mins):
1: SIG financial structure discussion.  KT will report on what the Board 
discussed, then we can take about 20 mins to discuss Shelly's proposal 
and next steps.
2: Annual Meeting structure discussion.  The ASIST Board and the Annual 
Meeting Task Force have lots of areas to change, including how panels 
are organized (including #of spots available, evaluation, structure, 
etc.).  KT will report on Board's discussion.  Board would like to have 
recommendations/options from SIG Cabinet about possibilities.  We need 
to have a recommendation in time to distribute to the SIGs at 2009 AM.  
Next year's conference is in Pittsburgh.

We have gotten quite a few questions from SIGs lately about student 
scholarships and other means of recruitment.  While recruitment is a 
very big topic for the Board, there are already some society-wide 
initiatives for students.  If we have time, I'd like to brainstorm other 
things we can suggest to SIGs as ways to recruit and retain members in 
2009/10.  If we run out of time, I'd like to continue that discussion 
via email.
