[SIGALP] SIG-ALP planning meeting

Greetings :
The planning meeting for SIG-ALP will be on Tuesday,
November 19th in planning room A from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00. Some ideas
discussed last year include :
1) Jerry Hobbs current research, working on an ontology of

> >2) Vendor tools for concept mining -- IBM textminer ; Categorization --
> >Oracle's Text classifier and Semio, a concept extractor. We talked about
> >vendor presentations of algorithms underlying the structures of these
> >systems. We might be able to cosponsor with Sig CR on this one.
> >3) Case studies -- user presentations on implementing software in 2)
> >4) Competitive intelligence at the national level, CIA, Israeli
> >intelligence, etc. Perhaps cosponsored with IA?
> >5)Q and A -- OpenSource Solution. Q&A state of the art -- progress reports
> >from current research. Sig USE might want to cosponsor this one.
> >6) Bahaa(from the international sig) was interested in cosponsoring a
> >session on cross language IR.
