[Sigah-l] SIG-AH panel for ASIS&T Annual Meeting?

Dear SIG-AHers,

I wanted to find out how many people from the SIG would be interested in putting together a panel presentation for the annual meeting. The deadline for panel submissions is January 21, so we still have time to put one together.

A good way to put together a panel on short notice would be to make it a research-in-progress panel. Scott Simon and I are both interested, and there is a possibility for collaboration with SIG-VIS, as well. If we have too many people for a single panel, we can always split it. The mapping panel last year worked fairly well, but it was somewhat crowded.

The requirements for submitting a panel are not stringent. The application takes the form of a two-page paper describing the issues, work, etc., to be discussed. That means that each panel member will only have to submit a relatively short description or abstract. I can put the materials together and handle the submission if people are interested.

Let me know if you're interested.

Thanks,
Steve Paling
