[Sig-l] Reminder re prep for your SIG's participation at ASIST New Members Brunch

Hi all ~

Just a reminder of your SIG’s tiny prep items needed for the marvelous recruitment opportunity at the New Member/First Time Attendee Program on Sunday 10/16 from noon –1 in the conference hotel restaurant.

I’ve already been collecting and sending in the SIG officers who will be attending. If you haven’t had time to send your representative’s name to me, then just post it yourself at the link below and send me the name as well. (We’re trying to touch base once we’re in Copenhagen to be sure everyone’s all set.)  Let me know if you have any questions.

We are asking each Special Interest Group to:


  1.  Review and edit their one-page PowerPoint slide that he have from last year, summarizing/highlighting their SIG.  Please click on this link to edit your slide<https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1m7tyDVqwPxHYp99cYZ3zZU0cZB6gLEeZCVht20HHwFg/edit?usp=sharing>. The slides will run in the background, and will also be printed as part of the packet given out to new attendees. We ask that you edit your slide if possible by 9/30.

  2.  We are inviting one officer from each SIG to attend this program. Could you please click on this link <https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1YF6tN2E8KnkaNllLQU2MyHd7y8-s0WM8ZqCbzYyQg9M/edit?usp=sharing> and enter the name and email addresses of your representative by 9/30 as well. We will take this entry as a confirmation of your having reviewed/edited your slide.

On the actual day, SIG representatives may bring things to hand out – flyers, buttons, bookmarks, pens, whatever your heart desires to promote your SIGs to new members.  The handouts are to be distributed at your table. While you’ll mingle with the new members on each table, we’re not asking the representatives to speak this year. The SIG Cabinet Director will speak on behalf of all the SIGs (at most 5 minutes) and the representatives will be asked to stand up.
