I have a question regarding our best paper award. Our guidelines stipulate the deadline is August 30th. I read the SIG Officer's Manual and could find nothing regarding award deadlines. Is this date our deadline or is it a SIG mandate? Please confirm. All the best, Michael Luesebrink, M.L.I.S., PhD Collection Assessment Librarian Collections Division University Libraries Florida State University Phone: 850.644.4271 -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... As far as I know, ASIS&T does not have a "Research Agenda", at least not for the organization as a whole, but I might be wrong. If anybody has some information about that, could you please contact me? I suspect that individual SIGs might have their own research agendas, if that's the case, would you be willing to share with me? I can compile all answers in a document and send back to the list. I believe it would of interest to all SIGs. Thank you! Moriana (SIG-STI Treasurer) -- Moriana L. M. Garcia, MS, PhD, MLIS Natural Sciences Liaison Librarian Denison University Libraries P.O. I did not receive any particular definition. But based on the published research agenda of various organizations: -It is a document that outlines, or recommends, important research questions to the members of an organization, based on future trends in particular areas of interest to the membership. I hope this helps ;-) Moriana On Thu, Feb 12, 2015 at 11:24 AM, Moriana Garcia wrote: > Dear SIG colleagues, > > I am the current ACRL Liaison to ASIS&T, and had been asked to share with > the ACRL Liaison Committee some information about ASIS&T's Research Agenda. > > As far as I know, ASIS&T does not have a "Research Agenda", at least not > for the organization as a whole, but I might be wrong. Some SIGs published annotated bibliographies in response - to capture the current state of a given area or research question. Some would also point to the work of ARIST in which each chapter of every volume listed research questions and outline fruitful areas worthy of continued research. From the website: The *Annual Review of Information Science & Technology (ARIST)* was published annually on behalf of the Association for Information Science & Technology (ASIS&T) from 1966-2011. The review is a landmark publication within the information science community, surveying the landscape of information science and technology and providing an analytical, authoritative, and accessible overview of significant trends and developments. Print copies of many *ARIST* volumes remain available for purchase from Information Today, Inc. ; contactcustserv at infotoday.com for information on availability and to order. ASIS&T's commitment to reviewing current developments in information science and technology is now handled through Advances in Information Science, published in the Association's *Journal* (*JASIST*) .
