[Sig-l] Questions from SIG Officers' meeting and SIG Officer's Manual

Good morning!

I have finally gotten the answers to some questions that were asked at the
SIG Officers' online meeting.

1) Will multiple SIG sponsorship help in acceptance of panels at the Annual
Meeting?

Answer:  The reviewers will not be weighing multiple SIG sponsorship as
part of the review process; however, when the final decisions are made on
which panels to accept multiple SIG sponsorship will be taken into account!

2) Can we post to asis-l (General ASIS&T mailing list and announcements)
and if so, how?

Yes, you may post to asis-l and this is the process:

a) Make sure you are subscribed to the list and you know which address your
subscription is under.  For information about subscribing and about the
list go to http://mail.asis.org/mailman/listinfo/asis-l.  Note: you must
specifically subscribe to asis-l to post to it; being subscribed to one of
the SIG mailing list does not subscribe you to asis-l. Also, when you
subscribe to asis-l, all subscription requests will be reviewed by the list
moderators. You should receive an email notification when the subscription
request is approved.

b) After you have subscribed to the list, from the address that you
subscribed under, post your message to asis-l at asis.org

c) One of the moderators of the list may contact you if there are any
questions about your post.

Note: This is a way you can get members of other SIGs to join your SIG
because for just $10 an ASIS&T member can be in all the SIGs they want :-)

Lastly, the SIG Officer's Manual is now ready and available.  It is posted
on the the wiki at
