I'd like to give special thanks to Heather Pfeiffer who was elected as SIG Cabinet Deputy director, and to Moriana Garcia - who was elected as SIG Cabinet Advisor. Thanks to each of you for the role you will play in the coming year in the continuing revitalization of ASIST SIGs! You are receiving this email because you are listed as a SIG officer either (chair, chair-elect, secretary, treasurer) on your SIG website for ASIST or you represented your SIG at the Cabinet meeting. Please take a moment to double check the ASIST website for your SIG http://www.asis.org/SIG/sigs.html to be sure the listing of officers is correct. If it is not please fill out the attached form (I received forms from DL, III, USE, and MET at the cabinet meeting) . In the few days I'll be sure all of your SIG officers are added to the SIG-L mailing list. To be sure not to miss anyone - I'm also sending this to SIG-L These are the documents from the SIG cabinet meeting this morning that I promised to send to each of you. Officer template form Calendar The following people signed in on the roll sheet this morning but without noting their affiliation. If you are not currently a member of SIG-L and prefer NOT to be enrolled please let me know. Holley Long Julian Warner K.T. Thanks to the steadfast efforts of Heather Pfeiffer - your new Deputy SIG Cabinet Director, and to each and every SIG who has provided updated officer information - we've completed the following: (1) Forwarded your officer lists to Jan Hatzakos so that she can update the SIG website pages. Much recent SIG info is in process. Heather has requested web access so she can assist in this process. (2) We've also updated the membership of SIG-L (listserv for SIG officer communications). For each SIG we've enrolled the following members: Chair, Chair-Elect, Secretary, Treasurer, Past-Chair, Communication/Outreach, Webmaster, At Large/Cabinet Representative This is the spreadsheet of enrollees and affiliations: http://bit.ly/1h5gQHZ Please review and let us know if there are additional officers you would like for us to add to the list or if you spot any errors. Please note: we are doing our best to continue to streamline this process but know that errors can and will occur - we apologize for these in advance). More SIG business soon - we want to get SIG-L as up to date as possible first. Kathryn -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... We are suggesting that prior to the official review process, SIG officers will solicit, develop, internally review and sponsor panel proposals for the conference. If there are proposals that seem appropriate for multiple SIG sponsorship, we suggest that you reach out to them and co-sponsor proposals. Of course, we cannot guarantee that a sponsored proposal will be accepted because we do not intend to circumvent the review process, but we will look favorably on proposals sponsored by multiple SIGs. Howard and Pnina. From the call: Panels Proposals for panels, lightening talks, fishbowls, Pecha Kucha, etc. are invited on topics that include emerging cutting-edge research and design, analyses of emerging trends, opinions on controversial issues, analyses of tools and techniques, and contrasting viewpoints from experts in complementary areas of research. Panels are not a substitute for a set of contributed papers, but must have a cohesive theme and promote lively interaction between panelists and audience members. Submit 3-5 pages that provide an overview of the issues to be discussed by the panel. Proposals should also list panelists who have agreed to participate and indicate the qualifications and contribution that each panelist will offer. Important dates: April 23: A SIG office will email us a list of the panels that the SIG is sponsoring or co-sponsoring. Include the SIGs, the title of the panel, the panel organizers and a brief description April 30: Deadline for panel proposal submission. Remind the panel organizers to submit their proposals July 30: Notifications of acceptance August 20: Final copies -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
