[Sig-l] SIG listservs - you manage yours

Actually what I suggested to KT is that we update who from which SIG has
access to SIG membership reports. I've attached a list of who now has
access, and I know some of this is outdated. There are several who should
be deleted in some SIGs.
Access to run the "SIG ROSTER" shows when you log in to the ASIST site as a
member. List on the left side shows "SIG Roster" if you have authorization.
Clicking on that link allows you to run the report, which gives complete
information on every current member of the SIG for the time (month and year)
you request.
Report comes either as a PDF or as a csv, with the csv easily opened in
Excel.
So, while I can provide reports when necessary, much better if you can do it
yourself whenever you want.
PLEASE let me know who from your SIG should have this access.

Subject: [Sig-l] SIG listservs - you manage yours
Hi all -
Sorry for all the email this week, we're getting ready for the Annual
Meeting and so I'm in full ASIS&T mode!
Before I get into listservs: Sandra is printing up your officers'
certificates soon. Please contact me to make sure I have the correct
information to give to Sandra.
Dick Hill wanted me to remind you about the way membership in lists works:
1: When people sign up to be members of your SIG they do NOT automatically
get added to the listserv. HQ got too many complaints from people who did
not want to be on the lists.
2: People can sign up to be on a SIG list who are not in the SIG. Ditto for
FB pages, LinkedIn groups, etc.
3: HQ does not manage these lists - YOU DO. If you would like a roster of
your members please let Dick Hill know (rhill at asis.org). He's happy to send
you the roster. If you let him know who your listserv administrator should
be, he'll send that person the roster AND instructions on how to get into
the listserv management system. The admin can then block copy and paste the
roster emails - only people who are not currently subscribed to the list
will get added. Only do this if you're willing to be the contact for people
who do not want to be on the list!
4: Implications of 1 & 2: Unless you add new members, your list does not
reach all of your members. You may want to add them so you can publicize
events and hold elections online. People who are not members can read your
messages to your membership - including ballots if you go the e-voting
route. Just be aware.
Questions? Let me know -
