[Sig-l] ASIS&T SIGs: Awards, Elections, Planning

Hi all - I have three quick things for you on this hot hot Friday:

1: Please remember that SIG Awards are due on the 15th!  SIG of the 
Year:

2: We are starting the nominations process for the open seats on the SIG 
Cabinet Steering Committee.  This year we will be electing one at-large 
member (incumbent: Rafal Kasprowski), the Deputy Director (incumbent: 
Shelly Warwick), and Director (incumbent: KT Vaughan).  Current officers 
(including the immediate past chair) are eligible to stand for these 
positions.  Please send me nominations off-list, including a brief 
biosketch.  I am happy to answer questions about the 
roles/responsibilities of each of these positions.  More info will 
follow in September, as well.

3: The wiki has been updated to let you start claiming spaces for SIG 
planning sessions and Dutch Treat dinners at this year's annual 
conference:

have two small rooms again, and scheduling is first come, first served.  
Please go ahead and schedule your time - I only need to be notified if 
you have a problem.

Okay, four things:  We (the ASIS&T Board) are actively working on 
exciting new ways to run the annual meeting.  If you have 
comments/suggestions/complaints pertaining to SIG sessions, please let 
me know off-list.  We are particularly interested in ways of making SIG 
sessions more interactive, interesting, and of high quality so as to 
attract more attendees.
