Hi SIG leaders -
Why do you care that the fiscal year is ending? Two reasons:
1: If you did not turn in your annual report by August 15th, it MUST be
in by next Tuesday at the latest, or I'll get cranky* with you. Please
send your report directly to me at this email address. Thank you. SIGs
CR, HFIS, HCI, IA, KM, LT, MED, STI, and SI, I'm talking to you.
2: If you have a reason why you want 100% of your funds rolled over to
the 08/09 fiscal year, I need those requests by Friday the 26th so that
Shelly & I can confer on them. Acceptable reasons to roll over 100% of
your funds include: known and budgeted items including events at the
2008 Annual Meeting, upcoming publications in 2009, etc. You will not
get to roll over all of your funds if you don't have a plan to use
them. So far I have heard only from SIGs HCI and MGT. The standard is
that half of all funds in a SIG's account at the end of the fiscal year
revert to the Society (for use at, among other things, Annual), and that
half remain with the SIG for the next year's expenses. If you'd like to
discuss this, please email me. We are exploring alternate models for
SIG membership and finances, and I'm always happy to take suggestions.
Also, I see that only a few SIGs have signed up for planning meeting
slots. Please either claim a spot via the wiki or email me to do it for
you! http://www.asis.org/wiki/chapters-sigs/index.php/SIG_Cabinet
Thank you!

SIG Cabinet Director, 2007-2009
*Announcement: I'm 14 weeks pregnant, and get cranky easily.
