Hi SIG Leaders!

Greetings from the Constitution & Bylaws Committee! I am looking to recruit some new members into this very important (and
surprisingly fun) committee, and need your help. Do you have a colleague whom you think would be good for this committee, and
for whom we would be good?

Let me define good for us:
1: Has an interest in the workings of a scholarly society, from the "official" point of view.
2: Has an eye and mind for detail.
3: Is interested in making sure the backbone of our active society is itself a living document.
4: Is coming to the Annual Meeting in Austin (not a requirement, but I like to meet people).

And good for them:
This committee works closely with the Board, the Parliamentarian (Gerard Plateau), and the Executive Director to make sure that the Society is
behaving according to its own rules - and that, when it isn't, that either the Society or the rules are fixed. We are lucky that usually
there aren't major issues to fix. However, when there are, we are able to quickly identify the area of question, draft a response, and share it
with the Board (and the Society) via email. This means:
1: You get to work with the leadership of the Society.
2: There's usually not much work involved.
3: The work we do isn't very hard but gets a lot of publicity.

Our committee has been shrinking of late, and given that we had two amendments to the bylaws this year and have several additional questions
coming in the future, I'd like to have some more people to work with. Also the meetings are a bit lonely when it's just a few of us!

Please forward this message to people you think might be interested and/or send me nominations. New members will be encouraged to attend the committee
meeting at AM 06 (Monday at 12:30) and will become official members of the committee until next fall (2007).

Many thanks,
KT Vaughan
