*Douglas D. Schumann Library & Learning Commons Website

*Speakers*
*Este Pope* is the Associate Director of the Douglas D. Schumann Library &
Learning Commons at Wentworth Institute of Technology. She previously
served as Head of Instruction and Digital Research at Boston College, and
holds an MLIS from Simmons and an MA from Boston College.

*Beth Vargas* is the Library Assistant of the Douglas D. Schumann Library &
Learning Commons at Wentworth Institute of Technology. She is also
currently a SLIS graduate student at Simmons with a concentration in IS&T
and the NEASIS&T Liaison for the Simmons Student Chapter of ASIS&T.

*Project*
The *Douglas D. Schumann Library & Learning Commons website* was created
for the Wentworth Institute of Technology students, faculty, and staff. Its
redesign began February 2016, and the new website launched in August 2016.
It directs users to library resources and research help appropriate to
their needs, and includes features such as Contact a Librarian, Find
E-resources, and Search for Books and Articles.

*Best Practices for Biomedical Research Data Management MOOC

*Speakers*
*Julie Goldman* is the eScience Coordinator for the National Network of
Libraries of Medicine, New England Region. In 2014 and 2015 she served on
the teaching staff for "Scientific Research Data Management," a course in
the LIS curriculum at Simmons. Julie holds an MLIS from Simmons and a BS in
Marine Biology from the University of New Hampshire.

*Project*
The *Best Practices for Biomedical Research Data Management Massive Open
Online Course (MOOC) *will provide training to librarians, biomedical
researchers, biomedical students, and other interested individuals on
recommended practices for managing biomedical research data. Each of the
MOOC’s nine modules will be dedicated to a specific component of data
management best practices, and will include video lectures, presentation
slides, research teaching cases, readings, activities, and interactive
quizzes.
