Hi everyone!

The New England Library Instruction Group (NELIG) http://www.acrlnec.org/sigs/nelig/index.html
is looking for presenters for our next meeting on December 3, 2010. Our topic is "Conducting Qualitative Research with Your Students". We have been inspired by Project Information Literacy: http://projectinfolit.org/ Project Information Literacy has been using qualitative research methods to get a better understanding of students' research and study habits. Many schools are now interested in conducting qualitative research to understand their specific student population. We would like librarians who have run this type of research to come and speak at any one of our December 3 event locations and tell us about their experiences designing and implementing qualitative research tools.

Please let Sara Marks (sara_marks at uml.edu) and Kieran Ayton (kayton at ric.edu) know if you are interested in at speaking at ONE of our 3 locations on December 3:

1. Adams Library at Rhode Island College in Providence, RI
2. Tisch Library at Tufts University in Medford, MA
3. Glickman Library at University of Southern Maine - Portland, ME

Please include a 1-2 paragraph proposal about what you would speak about and your background in regards to qualitative research. Also include which locations you can speak at and what type of qualitative method your presentation would focus on. Proposals should be submitted by Tuesday, November 9th.

Thank you,
