Its a big week for NEASIST
2 events in one week! We also have book club
night at Cambridge Brewing Company on Friday at 5:30.
Join us for our summer installment of the NEASIS&T Book Club Night! We will
be discussing the insightful, and exciting, book The Long Tail by Wired
editor Chris Anderson. Anderson examines the phenomenon where our culture
and economy are increasingly shifting away from mainstream products and
markets at the head of the demand curve toward a huge number of niches in
the tail
As costs of production and distribution fall, especially online,
narrowly targeting goods and services can be as economically attractive as
mainstream fare. (WorldCat summary).

Evening in Ipswich on July 23rd
Please join SLA Boston and NEASIST for an evening at EBSCO Publishing in
Ipswich on July 23rd from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. EBSCO will be hosting us in
their "green building" with food, tours, and a talk on federated search, and
plenty of time to network with your SLA Boston and NEASIST colleagues.
We hope to have lovely summer weather with which to enjoy the EBSCO
Publishing campus right on the Essex River. Those of you with time off on
the 23rd may want to make a day of it on the North Shore.
There is plenty of parking - and for those of you in Boston without cars, we
will meet as a group at North Station and take the 5:10pm train to Ipswich
and the 9:12pm train back.
The meeting will be held in the Riverside building at 10 Estes Street and
there is parking available in the lot in front of the Riverside Building.
