[Neasis-l] New Officers for New England Chapter

New chapter officers were elected by NE ASIS&T for 2008/2009:

*	Chapter Chair: Nicole Hennig, MIT Libraries

*	Program Chair / Chair-Elect: Remlee Green, MIT Libraries

*	Treasurer/Secretary: Sheila Denn, Simmons College

*	Membership Chair: Christine Quirion, MIT Libraries

Our new Simmons' GSLIS Student Liaison is Bill Helman.

Thanks to our present and past officers for their service to the chapter.  The chapter owes special gratitude to Dick Luxner, who has served as membership chair for several years. Dick has moved on to other interests and opportunities, and will be missed. 

We are looking for more help on the NE ASIS&T web team.  If you're interested in getting more involved with the chapter, but can't make it to meetings, this could be a great opportunity. We are looking for help updating and managing the NE ASIS&T web site, as well as adding content to our blog and Facebook space. Please let me or the other NE ASIS&T officers know if you want to get involved with the web team.

Any NE ASIS&T member is free to join us for program committee meetings, where we develop ideas for events.  These meetings usually take place the 2nd Monday of the month, at 5:30 PM, and are held in the Barker Engineering Library conference room at MIT.  Our next meeting is on Monday, November 3rd.  You can also email the group to suggest speakers or ideas for events:  neasis-pc at asis.org.

Don't forget up our social meetup on November 13 -- it's a chance for those who went to ASIS&T Annual Meeting to share what they learned, and for those of us who missed the meeting to hear all about it.  More info: http://www.neasist.org/events/?p=115
