(Apologies for cross-postings.)
Join SLA-Boston and SLA-CT Valley
at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame
Network with librarian colleague and make new friends at the Naismith
Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame <http://www.hoophall.com/> in
Springfield on Saturday October 21 from 5-8 p.m.! Even if you're not a
basketball fan, you'll have a good time in this exciting new facility,
enjoying the company and the outstanding food and drink provided by
Max's Catering
<http://www.maxrestaurantgroup.com/locations/tav_index.php> . And if you
ARE a basketball fan, well, you're going to love it! Bring the kids,
friends, other fans and come early to visit the Hall of Fame exhibits at
a special price (there will be a place on your registration form to
purchase tickets at the reduced rate). While you're at it, plan to spend
the day in Springfield - there's lots to do! There are all sorts of
museums; family attractions (Six Flags New England isn't far); outdoor
adventures, parks and state forests; and more. Check out
http://www.valleyvisitor.com <http://www.valleyvisitor.com/> for some
suggestions.
The Basketball Hall of Fame is easy to find
<http://www.hoophall.com/visitor/directions.htm> (see directions below)

sure to purchase your reduced price tickets when you register (the
exhibit halls close at 5:00 p.m. so plan your visit accordingly and come
directly to the event). There is plenty of free parking at either end of
the complex as well as an underground garage.
SPECIAL ADDED ATTRACTION: a tour of the Basketball Hall of Fame Library,
conducted by its Librarian, Matt Zeysing, Historian and Archivist! Free
with your registration!
