Hello,

I think some of you might be interested in this talk with David
Weinberger on Wednesday, March 15, at 6 pm.

"The Authority of Wikipedia"
a Web of Ideas event with Berkman Center fellow David
Weinberger

Wednesday, March 15, 6 pm
Berkman Conference Room, Berkman Center, Baker House
1587 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA
http://cyber.law.harvard.edu/

An article gains authority just by appearing in the Encyclopedia
Britannica. Does it gain authority just by being in Wikipedia? What
(if anything) makes a Wikipedia article worthy of belief? How are the
sources, criteria and locus of authority changing in the age of the
Web? Join an open discussion with Berkman Center fellow, author, and
blogger David Weinberger. Pizza and drinks will be served.

Also, the time of the Wikipedia Meetup on Monday, March 13, has been
shifted back thirty minutes to 6:30 pm. Details:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Meetup/Boston

Cordially,

Jessica Baumgart

Please pardon the cross posting.
