Speakers and Topics:

David Cobb, Curator of the Harvard Map Collection will speak about
Google Maps & Google Earth.  He will discuss the value of these
services to the layperson and the types of projects that can benefit
from the use of satellite images supplied by Google. He will discuss
the power of sharing information and offer a comparison of
MicroSoft's virtual earth project with Google.


Angie Locknar , Instruction Coordinator for Engineering and Science
Libraries, MIT and Jennifer Hanson, Coordinator of
Instruction/Reference Librarian, Emerson College will address how
they are using and teaching about Google Scholar at their
universities.

Rich Wenger, Systems Programmer, MIT Libraries will discuss the
linking mechanisms used to connect Google Scholar and the MIT Library
holdings.

The University of Massachusetts Medical School has three main
amphitheatres.  To access these amphitheatres, enter the building via
the main Medical School entrance located on the left across the road
from the campus parking garage. (Please note that while this area is
surrounded by construction activity, the entrance is open and
protected.)  We will be meeting in the Arthur and Martha Pappas
Amphitheatre (Amphitheatre 1). From the main entrance, use the
elevators located straight ahead. Take the elevator to either the 2nd
or 3rd floor and follow posted signs to the entrance.
