I am pleased to announce that Nancy Walton, who has been the Acting Director and State Librarian within the Division of State Library Services at the Minnesota Department of Education since June of 2010, has accepted the offer from the Commissioner's Office to be the Director and State Librarian of State Library Services.  Nancy has nearly two decades of experience working with libraries and library policy in the State of Minnesota, including four years as the Library Program Director at the Minnesota Braille and Talking Book Library in Faribault.  Prior to her service with the State, Ms. Walton served as a library supervisor or manager in academic, corporate, and public libraries in Maryland and California, including three years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Morocco as a librarian and records manager.
