Job Description: To provide quality library service to the customers of the Minnesota Braille and Talking Book Library (MBTBL) and to the students and staff at the Minnesota State Academy for the Blind (MSAB).
Minimum Qualifications: A Masters degree in Library Science AND a minimum of six (6) months of professional experience as a Librarian with responsibility for performing or directing library information services; directing or providing references services; and cataloging, indexing, acquisitions, and searches to library users of a large and diverse public, institutional or organization library.
If you meet the above criteria, please describe your work experience in the following:
1. The use of the principles and practices of library sciences and library operations sufficient to develop and administer a system of diverse/specialized technical library information services.
2. Working with Section 508 standards and W3C guidelines.
3. Working with web design software and webpage design.
Requires occasional lifting, carrying or moving objects ranging from 10-50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of integrated library systems, such as Keystone Library Automated Systems Inc. (KLAS), principles and procedures sufficient to ensure the implementation of automated library operations, including circulation and inter-library loans of materials, cataloging and classification of materials.
Working knowledge of braille.
