Nobody Asked Me - May 18 at the College of St. Catherine
"Nobody Asked Me: Who IS Crafting Our Information Future?" Donald A.
Gemberling, "guru" of Minnesota's Data Practices Act. And recipient of the
2005 Freedom of Information Award.
In the Legislature, Board rooms, City Halls and backrooms the Deciders are
determining the information and telecommunications future of our community
and our nation. Whether it's Internet tolls and neutrality, broadband,
privacy, access to government information or who pays for what - policy
considerations are implicit, if not expressed. And the consequences, whether
intended or unintended, will make a difference.
Who is at the table to advocate for the public interest? For decades Don
Gemberling has done just that, as a public servant and now as an independent
- and outspoken - retired citizen. He knows the issues, the players, the
possibilities and the pitfalls.
This special meeting of ASIST is co-sponsored by a number of community
groups that share an interest in shaping our technology future.
Please share this notice with other individuals and organizations that would
like to be in on the conversation.
Details to follow as soon as they are confirmed. Here's what we know now:
When: Thursday May 18 - After work
Where: College of St. Catherine, room to be determined
