Walden University, which offers graduate degrees at a distance in
education, business, public health and the social and behavioral
sciences, as well as bachelor degree completion programs in business
administration and information systems, is seeking a professional to
join our team as Walden University Librarian. This position is located
in downtown Minneapolis, MN.

Responsibilities
The Walden Librarian oversees the development, implementation, and
evaluation of library and information resources that support the
research needs of Walden University undergraduate and graduate students.
The Walden Librarian will develop and supervise the maintenance of a
resource-rich, dynamic Walden Library Web site. This Web site will
organize library resources and services for students including reference
services, electronic databases, proximal library services, document
delivery, Internet sites and tools and other useful resources. The
Walden Librarian will also be responsible for infusing information
literacy instruction into Walden's online courses and for providing
associated training and support for faculty.

The Walden Librarian will provide leadership and vision for the Walden
University Library and create a plan to achieve this vision. This plan
will include a library staffing model that will scale to meet increased
enrollments. The Walden Librarian works in the Office of Student
Development and reports to the Dean of Student Development.  This
position will begin in March 2006 or as soon as a suitable candidate is
found.
