Job Title: Library/Information Resource Services Specialist
Salary: $16.65 - $24.27 hourly, $34,765 - $50,676 annually
Hiring Agency: Minnesota Dept. of Employment & Economic Development
Location: St. Paul, Minnesota
Employment Conditions: Permanent, Full-time
Days of Work: Monday - Friday,  8:00-4:30

development by supporting the Department of Employment and Economic
Development's (DEED) efforts to help individuals, communities and
businesses achieve economic success. The department library is located
in the beautiful new space in the First National Bank building, and
houses many unique products and services including an unmatched

JOB DESCRIPTION: This position performs library/information services,
including reference, interlibrary loans, serials, cataloging,
circulation acquisitions and collection development. The incumbent also
develops training and educates clients on the use of library services
and resources, oversees library intranet development and maintenance,
contributes to library policy development, performs work necessary to
provide efficient services to users, and assists senior librarian with
budgeting issues and reports and other work as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  Master's degree in Library Science, Library Media or Information Media
or a related field;

  OR

Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Library Media or Information
Media or a related field AND a minimum of 6 months professional-level
experience as a librarian performing or directing library/information
services; directing/providing reference services, cataloging, basic
administration, planning, library policy development, acquisitions,
collection development, circulation and budgeting. Knowledge of the
principles and practices of library/information sciences and library
operations sufficient to develop and administer a system of
diverse/specialized technical library information services;

OR

Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Library Media or Information
Media or a related field AND a minimum of 2 years experience performing
para-professional or technical library work with responsibility for
maintaining library records and resources; cataloging and locating
library materials; assisting users with research and library procedures;
recommending, researching and recording library acquisitions; processing
inter-library loan requests, and completing documents, forms and reports
to assist Librarians. (NOTE: General clerical work in a library, such as
typing or filing, does not qualify as para-professional or technical
library work.)

Skills in using cataloging and circulation software.
