At our August meeting, we listened to a previously-aired webinar
entitled "Content Management Tools and Technologies" presented by Ann
Rockley. Afterwards, the assembled group participated in a lively
discussion of who's doing what locally with respect to content
management, and those who have hands-on experience shared some of what
they have learned along the way. 

We decided that this meeting forum is worthy of repeating so we have
scheduled another webinar for this coming meeting to be held Thursday,
September 22 at 3:00.
 

Presentation Summary

The topic of this webinar is "DITA -- A Better Way to Publish Technical
Documents". Presented by Arbortext with guest speakers from IBM, the
inventor of DITA, this seminar provides an overview of DITA and how it
extends the capabilities of XML while simplifying many aspects
associated with building and using XML publishing systems. 

Come to this session to learn about a new addition to XML publishing,
the innovative Darwin Information Typing Architecture, or DITA. DITA
enabled benefits include:

    * Easier application development and maintenance
    * Faster author training
    * Better information reuse and sharing

Directions to Thomson West

610 Opperman Drive, Eagan, MN 55123.

Take 494 east from 35E.  Take the exit for MN 149 (Dodd Road).  Follow
Dodd Road south.  Where it joins with MN 55, turn left.  Continue
east/south on MN 55/MN 149 until MN 149 splits again. Turn right to stay
on MN 149. Follow MN 149 south about 1.4 miles. Turn right onto Opperman
Drive, and follow the road towards the front of the building.

The visitor parking is to the left of the main entrance close to the
building.  Park there and go into the main entrance and sign in at the
security desk.  Volunteers will escort groups of attendees to the
meeting room.
