Sorry about the strange subject line in my last message. I meant to
change it. I guess that's what I get for sending out email before I
clear my head with some exercise!

We just wanted to make sure people know about this great event. Ann

Subject: September 2003 SLA / ASIST Meeting Announcement and
Registration Form

There is still plenty of Minnesota summer left to enjoy, but mark your
calendars and send in your registration today for our first fall
meeting. Please join the Minnesota Chapters of the Special Libraries
Association and ASIST for a fun and informative evening of networking
and professional development:

Assessing Clients' Needs: Map the Information Flow

We all face the challenge of staying relevant in our organizations. This

program presents a detailed view of how information flows within an
organization, and how information professionals can use this model to
define services, allocate resources, and create budgets. This session
steps you through mapping information flows from a strategic point of
view to identify the ultimate users, identify products that best serve
the organization and extend library services through out the
organization.

This session will be presented by Pat Currie, as part of Dialog's
Quantum2 program, which supports career development for information
professionals.

Pat Currie joined Dialog nine years ago after spending more than a
decade as
a special librarian in a variety of industries. While pursuing a MLS
from Kent State University, Pat set up an engineering library for a
company that manufactured automated process control equipment. Then came
a stint as Research Librarian for one of the country's largest natural
gas utilities. During this time Pat served as Chairman of the American
Gas Association Library Services Committee. Immediately prior to joining
Dialog, she worked as Manager of the Research Library and Quick FactsR
information service at Management Horizons, a consulting division of
Price Waterhouse.

At Dialog Pat has had varied responsibilities including sales and
customer support and training. She is currently an Account Manager,
representing Dialog customers in Ohio, Michigan and Western
Pennsylvania.

As one of several 'Quantum Coaches' in North America, Pat presents
Quantum2
sessions and workshops to corporations and local SLA chapter meetings
throughout the Midwest.

She lives in the Cincinnati area with her husband Alan and three cats,
and is an avid golfer, skier, gardener and cook.
