I wasn't sure if everyone had received this program update on the
November ASIST meeting in Philadelphia
(http://www.asis.org/Conferences/AM02/index.html). I apologize if you
have.

Have a good afternoon! Ann

Subject: ASIST AM Program Changes

Important Dates -- Early Registration cut off: October 4

Program Changes
Monday, 3:30 "Education" Contributed Paper session moves to Wednesday at
3:30 and is replaced by "Semantic Web" session which was Wednesday at
3:30.

On Thursday, we have switched two sessions: "Bridging the Digital
Divide" will be at 10:30 and "Information Society Metrics..." will be at
8:30

MOST IMPORTANT:
SIG CON was inadvertently left out of the program, as several very
senior members pointed out.

Preliminary description is:
Recalling the spirit of the very first SIG/CON session (i.e., "pulled
together too late for inclusion in the printed program" - see Ref. 1),
this year's theme is "Just-in-Time Research." The session will open with
a review of just-in-time research, especially as it applies to
information science and technology, and with the latest references added
as the session unfolds (i.e., in real time). Submissions for this
session will be judged based on their relevance to the theme, of course,
but special preference will be given to those who submit a plan showing
that they will be gathering their data during the 2002 Meeting itself.
