The network is designed, managed, and supported by the Network Services Department of the Morris County Library. The Library Systems Analyst/Project Manager reports to the Network Administrator and supervises the Database Manager and Network Cataloger. Description of Duties: The Library Systems Analyst/Project Manager will a. define and manage most consortium-wide library automation projects; b. manage the migration of the ILS from DRA Classic to Sirsi Unicorn; c. provide the lead role in gathering and compiling library systems software functional requirements from M.A.I.N., Inc., member library directors and committees, and communicating same to vendors and consultants; d. evaluate database maintenance and cataloging work flow, production, and costs; e. serve as primary business and advocacy contact with Sirsi, the consortium's library automation vendor. Required: The successful candidate will have a. Bachelor's degree; b. Minimum 5 years working in a support or management capacity for automated library systems; c. Project management experience and library systems analysis experience; d. Demonstrated expertise in using PC software for spreadsheet modeling; database management, and project management; e. Excellent electronic and verbal communications skills, for interactions both with co-workers and with user constituency; f. Supervisory experience; g. Demonstrated commitment to customer service. Desirable: Additionally, the successful candidate may have a. ALA-accredited Masters degree; b. Formal project management or structured systems analysis training; c. Work experience in a public library consortium or multi-type library consortium; d. Work experience on a project team installing a new ILS, or migrating from one ILS to another.
