Dear Isabella,
thank you for the organisation. I like your suggestions. Should we make a
flyer that shows all our upcoming conferences/workshops in Europe in 2017?
Even if they are not directly sponsored by ASIS&T, but organized by EUChap
members?
The Student Chapter also has a poster (A0), which could be used after the
Barcamp on Saturday.
And I can take the first slot: Sun 3-3:30pm
Best,
Tamara

Betreff: [Eurchap] Promote and man EUChap Table at ASIS&T AM - looking for
flyers and volunteers
Dear colleagues,
sorry for bothering at such short notice.
I just realized that the EUChap does in fact have a table at the AM (from
October 15 Oct 19) close to the registration area.
The purpose of this table is to inform conference participants about the
wonderful work our chapter and our chapter members do.
Hence, we can use the table for two purposes promote what 1) the chapter
does and 2) where the chapter members come from, what their schools offer,
etc.
For 1) Chapter promotion:
I will bring our chapter flyers (see
http://www.asis.org/wiki/chapters-sigs/images/6/63/EuroChap_Flyer_2016.pdf)
for distribution and I will bring a bigger print of it (DINA3) that we can
hang up.
Additionally, I will bring sticky notes that we can attach to the wall or
the big poster. It would be awesome if everyone of you coming to the ASIS&T
AM in Copenhagen could take one of the sticky and write down your best story
of your EUChap membership, or what you like best about being a EUChap
member, or what experiences you made with the EUChap or ASIS&T or what you
want to tell others about the EUChap. I think that this is a nice way of
displaying why we like our chapter and why we did win the Chapter of the
Year Award 2016!
You may even want to promote your talk or panel!
For 2) Promotion of chapter members and schools etc.:
You are invited to bring flyers and informational material about your
projects, schools and programs that can also be displayed on the table. Just
bring what you have and inform colleagues and students about your research
and education.
Given that the table is close to the registration area it does not have to
be maned at all times but the headquarter suggested that we should man it at
least during coffee breaks.
Hence, I am looking for volunteers now :) This is also a good opportunity
for the new officers to present themselves and get in touch with members.
As far as I can see, there are following slots to be filled:
Sunday, 16/Oct/2016
-3-3:30pm
-5-5:30pm
Monday, 17/Oct/2016
-10-10:30am
- 12-1:30pm
-3-3:30pm
Tuesday, 18/Oct/2016

Please use the following doodle to indicate your availability:

Please let me also know about further suggestions or what else we can use
the table for (please feel free to also just go ahead and organize what you
think is an appropriate promotional activity given that time is short).
Thanks so much in advance for your help and best regards
Isabella
