[Eurchap] Awardees of free student ASIS&T memberships

Dear EUChap’lers,

 

thanks to an anonymous donation, two student membership have been awarded to
students nominated by country representatives and officers of the European
Chapter. 

The awards are made based on publications in major information science
journals and conferences and active participation in Chapter events. 

 

The awardees are:

 

* Frances Ryan, PhD student in the Centre for Social Informatics at
Edinburgh Napier University, Scotland  (

Hazel Hall explains why she nominated Frances:

“Frances is thoughtful, intelligent and conscientious, exhibiting the
attributes of a promising PhD researcher and good academic citizen. Her work
has won a number of awards, e.g. best paper at IDIMC2016 and ‘Outstanding
contribution to university life’ at Edinburgh Napier in 2016.”

 

* Christine Meschede, Master student in the Department of Information

Christine was nominated by Agnes Mainka because of following contributions:

“Christine is very active in projects of the ASIS&T European Student
Chapter. She won the ASIS&T New Leader Award 2016 and has published in
Springer edited volumes and at the iConference 2015. She truly deserves the
free membership.”
