Quoting Diane Sonnenwald from ASIS&T European Chapter Facebook page:
"There are new, lower ASIS&T membership fees for individuals and organizations in many countries. For countries whose GNI per capita is between $24,999 and $15,000 the fees are 30% of the usual amount. In Europe this includes Slovenia, Greece, Portugal, Malta, Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Estonia and Latvia. I.e., annual membership fees for "regular" individual members is now $42 per year. Previously it was $140. For students, the new fee is $12.
For countries whose GNI is less than $14,999 the fees are 20% of the usual amount. This includes Lithuania, Russian Federation, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Albania, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, etc. I.e., annual membership fees for "regular" individual members in these countries is now $28 per year, and for students it's $8.
An article describing and explaining the rationale for the new fees is scheduled to appear in the December Bulletin. If you would like a copy of the article beforehand, send me a message with your email address."
