 5th IRF Conference, July 1-3, 2012, Vienna, Austria
The MUMIA Cost Action<http://www.mumia-network.eu/> and the Vienna University of Technology<http://www.ifs.tuwien.ac.at/imp/> cordially invite you to attend the 5th Information Retrieval Facility Conference (IRFC 2012). The IRF Conference provides a multi-disciplinary, scientific forum that aims to bring experienced and young researchers into contact with industry. Another emphasis is put on the applicability of IR solutions to real industry cases and to domain specific search. The event addresses a broad spectrum of search related disciplines, mainly in the domain of patent search, and is open to all emerging and established practitioners and professionals, industry leaders, researchers, and students working in the field of information access research and development.
The conference takes place in Vienna, on the 2nd and 3rd of July and is hosted by the Vienna University of Technology. More information is available from the conference website, http://www.ir-facility.org/irf-conference-2012, including a schedule of paper sessions, industry track sessions and tutorials.
Two tutorials<http://www.ir-facility.org/tutorials> will be held on 1st of July. The first tutorial is on "Patent Information Retrieval" by Dr. Allan Hanbury and Dr. Mihai Lupu and the second is about "Designing the Search Experience" by Dr. Tony Russel-Rose. At the conference experts are invited representing technology providers and innovators offering services and products addressing the Intellectual Property intelligence needs of the technology sector such as CambridgeIP (www.cambridgeip.com<http://www.cambridgeip.com>) and Treparel KMX (treparel.com<dhtmled0:treparel.com>) as well as experts representing technology providers for Search Driven Solutions (www.Findwise.com<dhtmled0:www.Findwise.com>) and other patent experts and search professionals.
The venue is located in the heart of Vienna, with easy access to affordable accommodations, significant cultural attractions, and a variety of transportation options. Registration discounts are provided to IRF/OCG/AARIT/PIUG members for full-conference registrations.
