From mrleach at fas.harvard.edu Wed Jan 28 15:21:58 2015 From: mrleach at fas.harvard.edu (Leach, Michael R.) Date: Wed, 28 Jan 2015 20:21:58 +0000 Subject: [Chapters-l] ASIST Chapters - updates Message-ID: <1422476610429.4524@fas.harvard.edu> Dear Chapter Leaders, As your Chapter Assembly Director, it is my responsibility to communicate with each of you - the various Chapter officers, both regional and student - about training, programs, policies, support, etc. This email is the first of a series - about 1 per week for the next 6 weeks, leading up to a conference call, which I will schedule the first week of March (between the 2nd and 6th). 1. Please check the ASIST web site and confirm your officer list is up to date. If not, please let me know the changes. 2. A revised Chapter Officer manual will be released in February. I will need two (2) volunteers to read through the draft and provide feedback; this manual will be placed on a wiki on the ASIST web site, when ready. Please contact me if you'd like to be one of the reviewers. 3. We will be offering leadership and training modules for officers (most will be web-based webinars, but we are also designing in-person programs) this coming Spring. More on that program soon, but I want you to begin thinking, what type of training you would like to see, e.g. how to run a program, how to increase volunteer participation, how to put on a webinar, how to speak effectively in public, etc. If you have a "high priority" training session you'd like to see offered, let me know. 4. I know many Chapters have just held or will soon hold a program for their members (I check the Facebook accounts, twitter feeds, etc.). It would be VERY helpful if an officer of a Chapter could post a brief summary of their program here on Chapters-L: not only will it show all of us what is happening, but, more importantly, it allows officers in one chapter to ask officers in another chapter how the program was organized, issues related to logistics, getting speakers, etc. We learn by sharing. As I finish this first email in this 6 week series, please contact me directly (see info below) if you have a question, concern, or idea about your Chapter, ASIST in general, etc. Sincerely, Michael Leach mrleach at fas.harvard.edu 781-267-1957 (my cell phone - I am open to "old fashioned" phone calls, or texts, if you prefer!!) -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
